Scottish Highlands Christmas 2010
Fort William, Glencoe, Glen Nevis, Caledonian Canal

This self guided and guided Scottish walking holiday in Scotland's Highlands is based at one of Fort William's best hotels and offers guests the free use of its leisure club. The leisure club has a large indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and modern well equipped gym.
The area around Fort William offers some of Scotland's most varied and interesting hiking.
The West Highland Way and The Great Glen Way both pass through Fort William.
The hotel offers a full Christmas menu and this walking holiday is full board including a fine Christmas Dinner. Each day of your stay one of our staff will be on hand to suggest walks as well as an option to join them for a guided walk to one of the areas best walks in our own minibus.
On Christmas Eve there is an optional excursion to a local church for midnight mass Scottish style.
On Christmas morning we will take a short guided walk along the Caledonian Canal and Loch Linnhe, stopping at a pub or hotel for some liquid refreshment.

Day 1: Wednesday 23rd December:  Arrive at Glasgow or Fort William
To start your Scottish Christmas walking holiday you make your own way to Fort William or Glasgow in Scotland. There is an optional pickup from Glasgow airport at 12pm and Glasgow Queens Street station at 2pm to transfer you to Fort William. The evening meal at the hotel is a good opportunity to meet our rep and the other walkers.

Day 2: Xmas Eve.
After breakfast our minibus will leave at 9.30am for an optional walk up Glen Nevis to Steall Falls. On route we will stop at the Ben Nevis cable cars for any guest wishing to take the trip. A packed lunch is included. If you wish to stay in the hotel today, luncheon is included. The minibus will return around 4pm so there is plenty of time to make full use of the leisure club before inclusive dinner. After dinner our bus will be on hand to take you to a local midnight mass Scottish style if required.

Day 3: Xmas Day.
After breakfast at 10.15am one of our staff will lead an optional short walk from the hotel along the Caledonian Canal and Loch Linnhe, stopping at a bar or two along the way. We will return in time for Xmas dinner. In the evening a buffet meal is served.

Day 4: Boxing Day.
After breakfast our minibus will leave at 10am for an optional walk alongside Loch Oich and the Caledonian Canal to Fort Augustus at the head of Loch Ness. A packed lunch is included. If you wish to stay in the hotel today, luncheon is included. The minibus will return around 4pm so there is plenty of time to make full use of the leisure club before inclusive dinner. After dinner our rep will be in the bar to wish you a safe trip home.

Day 5: 27th December
After breakfast our minibus will leave at 9.30 am to transfer you back to Glasgow station or airport.
Or you can extend your holiday and spend some time exploring.
