This self guided and guided Scottish walking holiday in Scotland's Highlands is based at one of Fort William's best hotels and offers guests the free use of its leisure club. The leisure club has a large indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and modern well equipped gym. The area around Fort William offers some of Scotland's most varied and interesting hiking.
The West Highland Way and The Great Glen Way both pass through Fort William.
The hotel offers a full menu and this walking holiday is full board including a fine New Year Celebration Programme. Each day of your stay one of our staff will be on hand to suggest walks as well as an option to join them for a guided walk to one of the areas best walks in our own minibus.

Day 1: Tuesday 29th December:  Arrive at Glasgow or Fort William
To start your Scottish New Year walking holiday you make your own way to Fort William or Glasgow in Scotland. There is an optional pickup from Glasgow airport at 12pm and Glasgow Queens Street station at 2pm to transfer you to Fort William. The evening meal at the hotel is a good opportunity to meet our rep and the other walkers.

Loch Lochy, Scottish Highlands New Year walking holiday Day 2: Wednesday 30th December.
After breakfast our minibus will leave at 9.30am for an optional walk along Loch Lochy and through South Laggan Forest. A packed lunch is included. If you wish to stay in the hotel today, luncheon is included. The minibus will return around 4pm so there is plenty of time to make full use of the leisure club before inclusive dinner.
Day 3: New Year's Eve.
After breakfast at 9:30am our minibus will leave for an optional walk to the eight cascades which make up the Inchree Waterfalls. Then we take a ferry across Loch Linnhe and pop into a pub for a drink with our packed lunches. In the afternoon we take a stroll around Ardgour to visit the 'kettle holes'and the banks of Loch Linnhe. We will return to the hotel in time to enjoy the facilities of the leisure club before the Hogmanay celebrations.

Day 4: New Year's Day.
After a late breakfast our minibus will leave for an optional walk to Glenfinnan at the head of Loch Shiel to see the famous Glenfinnan Monument to Bonny Prince Charlie and maybe even Hogwarts Express on the Glenfinnan Viaduct. We will then take the Road to the Isles and eat our packed lunch on the Silver Sands of Morar. Those inclined can take a New Year's dip!. We will return to the hotel for dinner, after which our rep will be in the bar to wish you a safe trip home.

Day 5: Saturday 2nd January 2010
After breakfast our minibus will leave at 9.30 am to transfer you back to Glasgow station or airport if required.
Or you can extend your holiday and spend some time exploring.
