Day 1: Arrive at Swanage
To start your Dorset walking holiday you make your own way to Swanage. We can assist with coach or train transfers if necessary. Car parking is available for the duration of your self-guided west country walking holiday.

Day 2: Swanage to Corfe Castle.    7 miles    easy
Swanage on the Jurassic Coast has a steam railway and fine beach. You leave Swanage via the South West Coast Path to Ballard Down famous for its butterflies. Then we leave the South West Coast Path and head inland on the Purbeck Way. Corfe village is dominated by the magnificent ruin of Corfe Castle. There is plenty of time to visit the castle and explore the shops.
Day 3: Corfe Castle to Wareham.    5 miles   easy
As you leave Corfe the path runs close to the Swanage steam railway . The trail now enters Purbeck's lowland heaths full of wildlife and rare plants. Stroll along the River Frome to Wareham and explore the famous quay.
An extra night can be added here to explore Wareham and perhaps enjoy the some time along the banks for the River Frome.

Lulworth Cove on self-guided walking holiday on Purbeck Way in Dorset Day 4: Wareham to Lulworth.    12 miles   easy
Today you pass prehistoric earthworks and long water meadows on the banks of the River Frome, through woods and sleepy Dorset villages that appear lost in time. At Lulworth the trail rejoins the South West Coast Path. The famous Lulworth Cove is perhaps one of the most famous areas on the whole Jurassic Coast.
Day 5: Depart after breakfast
Depart after breakfast or extend your holiday and spend some time walking the South West Coast Path. We can transfer you to your car or station.
