and interesting cycling tour. The Lochs, Bens and Glens Scottish Cycling
Tour passes through some of Scotland's most stunning landscape, the magical
lochs, glens and bens full of wildlife. The towns along the way are some
of Scotland's most famous. Killin, a centre for cyclists, walkers and mountaineers
for generations offers a chance to climb one of Scotland's famous mountains,
Ben Lawers. Ben is a Scottish term for mountain. |

distance of the Lochs, Bens and Glens biking tour is 96/123 miles or 161/195

| You will enjoy magnificent views of some of Scotland's most famous lochs and mountains (bens) and will have a chance to see some of the abundant wildlife, such as Scottish red deer and golden eagles. 1: Arrive Perth Collect bikes and equipment if required, route briefing and instruction. Perhaps time to stroll to the shops, walk by the River Tay or climb Kinnoull Hill for a magnificent view of Perth and the Tay Valley. A great place to sample some famous Scottish Whiskey in a local bar. |

2: Cycle Perth to Dunkeld
17/26m (28/42km) Cycling on from Perth you can visit Scone Palace, a treasure house of Scottish furniture, ivories, fine porcelain, needlework and the unique Vernis Martin. From there you cycle north through the rolling farmland of Perthshire to the historic Scottish cathedral town of Dunkeld, situated on the banks of the River Tay. Cathedral Street leads to the partly restored cathedral, construction of which began in 1318. |

3: Cycle Dunkeld to Aberfeldy
18/19m (29/31km) On this cycling tour you are never far from the River Tay. Cycling on from Dunkeld passing the cathedral, the path follows the River Tay. Cycling along quiet roads northward you cross the river by an old railway bridge at Logierait. Then you cycle by the river to the small village of Weem and only a short cycle now to cross General Wade's Bridge into Aberfeldy. Visit the Whiskey Distillery, the Water Mill or explore the beautiful walks in the "Birks of Aberfeldy". |

4: Cycle Aberfeldy to Killin
24m (39km) The cycle tour leaves Aberfeldy by General Wade's Bridge and stops to visit Castle Menzies, the seat of the Chiefs of Scottish Clan Menzies, currently being restored. Past Drummond Forest to the conservation village of Kenmore at the eastern end of Loch Tay. Visit the Crannog Exhibition, which illustrates life on the Scottish Loch in the Bronze Age. By Cycling the south shore road you can enjoy the full unrivalled beauty of the Lochs and Bens on the way to Killin. |

5: Rest day in Killin Visit the Falls of Dochart, sail on the Loch, walk in the quiet countryside, walk up Ben Lawers, 6 mile cycle to Ben Lawers visitor center and then climb Ben Lawers or journey to the Trossachs and Callander 24/50miles round cycling trip. |

6: Cycle Killin to Fortingall
18/28/35m (26/34/53km) A choice of cycling routes, either a stiff climb and scenic cycle through Glen Lochy and Glen Lyon, or take the shorter easy cycle along the north shore of Loch Tay. Your destination is the village of Fortingall with its picturesque thatched cottages and 3,000 year old yew tree. |

7: Cycle Fortingall to Pitlochry
19m (30km) A cycle over the hills to Loch Tummel but you are rewarded with magnificent views and a level cycle by the quiet south shore road. Perhaps pause to cross River Tummel and visit the Queen's View Visitor Centre. From there it is a short cycle to the Scottish Victorian resort town of Pitlochry nestling in the shadow of the mountain Schiehallion. There are plenty of things to see including Blair Castle, the Dam and Fish Ladder, two whiskey distilleries and the Festival Theatre. |
