40 miles, 64 km You cycle over the Moulin Moors through forests and glens and the small town of Kirriemuir to reach Glamis Castle, the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and a royal residence since 1372. There are magnificent rooms to see with historic pictures, furniture, porcelain and tapestries. |

5: Glamis to Wormit 23
miles, 36 km Today's cycling takes you through small villages and fertile farmland of the Vale of Strathmore, and over the Sidlaw Hills to the city of Dundee. In the thriving port you can visit the RS Discovery, famous for its role in Arctic Exploration, and the frigate Unicorn, the oldest wooden ship afloat. You cycle across the Tay Bridge to Wormit on the south side of the River Tay. |

22 miles, 35 km A pleasant cycle passed the harbour at Tayport and through the Tentsmuir Forest to St Andrews, once the ecclesiastical capital of Scotland, now better known as the home of Golf. You can visit the ruined castel and cathedral and take a stroll along the wide expanse of golden West Sands. |

7: St Andrews to Perth
35 miles, 56 km Today you cycle through Fife and visit Falkland Palace and Gardens, set in the heart of a unique medieval village. Falkland Palace was the country residence and hunting lodge of eight Stuart monarchs and has an exceptionally beautiful Chapel Royal. Perhaps take tea in Auchtermuchty before cycling through Pitmedden Forest and the Tay Valley to Perth. |
